Update on ethanol’s road to recovery

The road to recovery for the ethanol industry continues to face an uphill climb following pandemic disruptions. That is as consumption is still running about 10 percent below year-ago levels.

Ag economist Dr. Michael Swanson with Wells Fargo speaks with RFD-TV’s own Christina Loren on current conditions, when the industry will return to normal levels, and export opportunities.

“Ethanol production has held up better than domestic demand because we’ve kind of had a nice increase in exports. We are running about 10-12 percent below on a domestic consumption basis... but luckily the exports to China have come back and kinda helped us take away some of that sting,” Swanson states.
