USDA warned weeks prior to JBS hack

We are learning new information regarding the ransomware attack that crippled JBS last week.

A group of security analysts warned USDA near the end of May about the potential harm an attack would have on the food system. That was less than two weeks before JBS got hit.

The hack prompted Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack to recognize computer system hijackings are a new reality for the industry.

Cybersecurity experts recommend subsidies to companies needing to make expensive upgrades.
