American Farm Bureau on JBS cyberattack

JBS says that most of its U.S. plants will be back online today following a cyber-security attack over the weekend. Speculation looms over the potential impact on producers, with an already stressed supply chain.

American Farm Bureau economist, Veronica Nigh speaks with RFD-TV’s own Janet Adkison on how much production this could affect, how it will affect the current backlog, and how this will impact producers.

“USDA did an estimate yesterday, they saw about 20 percent decline in cattle slaughter versus the week before, which is pretty close to JBS’s market share. But of course, those are just estimates and we won’t know the full impact for two weeks,” Nigh states.
