A company who will raise chickens with grocery store food waste just received some big-league endorsements.
Former Ag Secretary Ann Veneman and Obama family chef, Sam Kass, are now associated with “Do Good Foods.”
Every year, about 40 percent of food grown in the U.S. ends up in landfills. That waste produces methane, which some scientists say is a big contributor to climate change.
Do Good Foods takes produce and meat from grocery stores, then epicycles it into animal feed.
Venneman will serve on the company’s advisory board, and Kass, who also served as Obama’s Nutrition Policy Advisor, will become the Chief Strategy Officer.
