USMCA trade deal negotiations continue; differences narrowed

As the calendar flips closer to the end of the year, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley’s hope to see a finalized USMCA trade deal weakens. But, things might be going better than he thinks.

House Democrats and negotiators met Wednesday and Representative Richard Neal tells reporters they have narrowed differences considerably. Agri-Pulse reports Neal was noncommittal when asked if a deal could be reached before Thanksgiving. Grassley hopes the U.S. Trade Representative will keep USMCA’s primary details intact.

There are less than 20 legislative days left to get the deal ratified.
