Mixed reactions to gray wolf delisting

A wildlife announcement from the Trump administration is getting mixed reviews.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service decided to take the gray wolf off the endangered species list.

House Ag Committee Chairman, Collin Peterson, a Democrat from Minnesota, is happy to see the management of the animal return to the states.

Safari Club International and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association also support the ruling.

However, environmental groups like Animal Wellness Action call the move a political stunt, saying that President Trump is only doing this in order to earn votes in the swing states like Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, where the wolves are primarily found.
