What issues were addressed in the recent UK Ag Trade Mission?

USDA’s Deputy Ag Secretary is just back from a trade mission to the UK.

Jewel Bronaugh said the goal was to improve perceptions of U.S. ag across the pond. She gave an update on other issues the two nations discussed.

“Discussion in terms of efforts to reduce tariff and non-tariff barriers in the UK. We also emphasized and encouraged the UK in the use of science-based and data-driven decision-making, and one of the main goals was to encourage the UK to sign onto the Sustainable Productivity Growth Coalition.”

Nearly two-dozen U.S. companies and 11 state departments of agriculture attended the mission. They took part in more than 230 business meetings with UK buyers. Bronaugh says they should have sales projections from the trip in the next two weeks.
