A Temporary Fix for Wyoming Irrigation Collapse

A Wyoming irrigation tunnel gets a temporary fix after collapsing last month.

The damage at the Fort Laramie canal cut off irrigation to thousands of acres in Wyoming and Nebraska. Officials haven’t determined when a final repair will be complete but the irrigation district manager, Rick Preston, says they are finishing up on tunnel number one.

The initial flooding, starting on July 17th, destroyed several areas of crops. The USDA will assist farmers with those losses.
