Farm input shortage expands to plastics

The shortage of farm input supplies is beyond fertilizer and pesticides. It is also affecting plastics.

Backups in the supply chain have things like drainage tile, silage wrap, and baling twine on backorder.

One analyst says that the hurricanes last year took out several of the petrochemical facilities and that kicked off a domino effect. The shortage elevates prices, which are as much as one-third higher than average.
