A USDA economist explains the outlook for not only the U.S., but Canada and beyond.
According to Mark Jekanowski, “United States, especially, drought affects the spring wheat crop, but certainly for Canada, that’s partially all spring wheat and Kazakhstan as well, they’ve been suffering drought throughout the entire growing season.”
Forecast reductions in world wheat production include 2 million tons from Canada, half a million tons from Kazakhstan, and 1.4 tons from the United States.
