Endued with speed, strength, and majesty, perhaps no other four-footed creature has proved equally inspiring and useful – indispensable even – to mankind than the horse. Our equine companions have been much-celebrated throughout human history, but in 2004 the US Congress decided that horses should have their own day of honor, and so December the 13th was set aside as National Horse Day. So, be sure to take some time today to enjoy, honor, and celebrate horses in general, and your nearest member of the equine species in particular, as you’re able!
