Ukraine Says Russia is Planting Mines in the Black Sea

Ukraine says Russia is planting mines in the Black Sea.

That is the major shipping route for grain, oil and oil products in the region. A number of surrounding countries have ports on the water.

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry says Russia is using naval mines as uncontrolled drifting ammunition. It warns vessels on the Black Sea to be on the lookout and pay close attention to local navigation warnings.
