Navigable Waters Protection Rule Replaces WOTUS

The new Navigable Waters Protection Rule is now published in the federal register and replaces the Waters of The United States Rule. The rule excludes ditches, stock ponds, and other land features that fill with water when it rains. Members of the American Farm Bureau Federation say that this new ruling will make it easier for farmers and ranchers.

According to Don Parrish, with the AFBF Regulatory Relations, “We know that, that impacts a lot of acreage, particularly acreage that is maybe some of our best agricultural lands. We appreciate and support the need to protect true wetlands...”
