AFBF on what went right and what went wrong with the Phase One trade deal

It is official, the U.S./China Phase One trade deal has fallen short, but despite the missed target, 2020 was still a record year for ag exports covered by that agreement. Now that all the data for the calendar year is available, it is time to see what went right and what did not.

Veronica Nigh, an economist with AFBF, speaks with RFD-TV’s own Christina Loren on how far from the target the numbers were, the highlights, and what we can expect in 2021.

“While we set some new export levels to China, we missed that target,” Nigh states. “The target was $33.4 billion dollars and we ended up exporting $27.2 billion dollars. So, a new record, but not quite there.”
