The shipping container shortage has cost ag more than a billion dollars

An update now on the shipping container shortage we have reported on extensively for months.

It has cost agriculture more than a billion dollars.

An analysis by CNBC shows that between July and December of last year, carriers rejected at least $1.3 billion dollars in ag exports. Industry insiders have told RFD-TV that the problem has only gotten worse this year.

The carriers have favored sending back empty containers to China to be filled quickly with more expensive items. The Federal Maritime Commission is investigating the carriers’ export decisions.
