Last week, firefighters were called to help with a 24-year-old mare who found herself stuck in a muddy trench.
The trench that Ruby found herself stuck in was part of a water line project. For an hour, the North Whidbey Fire and Rescue worked to release her from the four-foot-deep hole.
Ruby was exhausted from the ordeal and only suffered a fractured jaw.
