All About: The Penny Gilley Show

Penny Gilley

RFD-TV has been proud to host “The Penny Gilley Show” for over 15 years now, starring “The Sweetheart of Country Music” herself, Penny Gilley. The weekly show debuted on Sept. 3, 2007, and is still going strong!

“The Penny Gilley Show” was previously taped in Branson, Mo., and Grapevine, Texas, but for the past five years, the show has been taping at its current home, Lil Red’s Longhorn Saloon in the Historic Stockyards of Fort Worth, Texas.

Gilley says the Saloon, an award-winning honky-tonk housed in a building that’s over 100 years old, is the perfect venue for her “keepin’ it country” brand of entertainment.

“Lil Red’s is the real deal,” she said. “Whether you are a singer, a guitar picker, dancer, or just a fan, everybody can get down to the roots of real country and honky-tonk music.” Gilley added that the “Cowtown” venue delivers a true Texas experience.

Penny and her guests – country music icons of the past, present, and future – are backed by The Texas All-Star Band, featuring fiddler Bonnie Riley, who has been with Penny since the first show in Branson.

Penny’s love for country music and her fans, whom she refers to as “friends,” is undeniable. They know how much she really loves and appreciates them. Not only does she bring her down-home charm and sweetness to her fans, but she also brings her signature glitz, glamor, and bling.

“God has really blessed me in my career,” Gilley said. “Stay tuned – you never know what’s next. Love and thanks for the 15 years.”
