FarmHer and Rural Radio Channel 147 on SiriusXM is Teaming Up for the New Radio Show, “Shining Bright: The FarmHer Radio Show”

Premieres Thursday, January 4th at 5 p.m. ET

(NASHVILLE, TENN. — January 3rd, 2018) Rural Media Group kicks off the new year with the launch of a radio series “Shining Bright: The FarmHer Radio Show,” beginning Thursday, January 4th, 2018 at 5 p.m. ET on Rural Radio Channel 147 on SiriusXM, the SiriusXM app, and as a podcast through iTunes (the show will re-air Saturdays at 12 p.m. ET). The series will complement the popular TV series “FarmHer” which airs weekly on RFD-TV, sharing the everyday stories of women in agriculture who are doing amazing things. Women who are making the ordinary extraordinary, following their passion, taking action, and making a difference for themselves and others.

“‘FarmHer’ was founded with the simple goal of updating the image of agriculture to include women. While that is still our goal, over the past four years we have created many different ways for women to join the FarmHer journey; from photographs and stories on our blog to social media and a national cable-television show on RFD-TV. Now we are excited to bring a new forum for sharing these stories and being a part of the journey to Rural Radio 147,” said Marji Guyler-Alainz, President and Founder of FarmHer. “The women we meet on this show will inspire and empower our listeners through the stories of their everyday lives in agriculture.”

“Shining Bright: The FarmHer Radio Show” will feature women following their passion and making a difference, like Pam Johnson, who was the first woman president of the National Corn Growers Association; or Cristen Clark who farms and shares her stories as Food and Swine; and Li Zao, who facilitates trade with businesses around the world.

Rural Radio Channel 147 on SiriusXM, is the agribusiness and Western lifestyle channel for the U.S. and Canada. About FarmHer:

FarmHer was founded in 2013 to change the image of agriculture, depicting women taking an active role in the industry through photographs and by sharing their stories. It quickly became clear that women in agriculture not only appreciated FarmHer, but they needed it. And they asked for more. Today, FarmHer has grown into much more than just a gallery of images; it is changing the way people perceive a farmer. Through an online community, events, and a weekly TV show, FarmHer continues to update the image of agriculture to include women. Women are rising to the forefront of agriculture and FarmHer is excited to be a driving force behind this effort. Learn more at FarmHer.com.
