Indianapolis Motor Speedway To Host Once-In-a-Lifetime
Event Honoring Rural America with the World’s Largest Parade of Pickup Trucks and Tractors
August 3rd Event to Coincide with the Launch of RURAL RADIO on SiriusXM Channel 80
Omaha, NE, (www.rfdtv.com) - On Saturday, August 3rd RURAL RADIO will join forces with SiriusXM satellite radio and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) to host the World’s Largest Parade of Pickup Trucks ever held. This once-in-a-lifetime event will be held at the famous Brickyard at the IMS and will include an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for a parade of pickup trucks.
The day’s festivities will include a parade of antique tractors along with music and entertainment from some of RFD-TV’s most beloved stars including Penny Gilley. Families are encouraged to attend and participate in the day’s events. Tractors and trucks will check in between 6:00 a.m – 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3rd, and then be placed in position for the tractor display or parade. The pace of the pickup trucks around the IMS track will be 5-miles per hour, allowing time for photographs and audience participation. The parade around the track will take place at 2:00 p.m., following a ribbon-cutting ceremony commemorating the launch of RURAL RADIO on SiriusXM channel 80. Music, food, and a public review of the antique tractors will continue until the grounds close at 6:00 p.m.
“This is a tremendous way for RURAL RADIO to kick off our relationship with SiriusXM and we’re grateful that this truly iconic American venue, known for its passion for sports and broadcasting, is the location” said Patrick Gottsch, Founder of Rural Media Group. “This is going to be an all-American celebration and we’re anticipating a record breaking number of pickup trucks to show up, tuned to RURAL RADIO on SiriusXM.”
“We want to blow away the record, and are shooting for as many pickups as possible, from all 50 states,” stated Michael LaBroad, CMO of RMG. “Thirty one different states participated in our World Record Tractor Parade, and we want to try to get at least one family from every state represented. Decorate your truck to celebrate your hometown, your country, even your favorite show on RFD-TV. Show your American spirit in one epic day.”
Both RFD-TV and RURAL RADIO will be covering the event “live” on August 3rd. In addition, RFD-TV will be taping new episodes of Talkin Tractors with the classic tractor owners all day on the infield of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Talkin Tractors filming will be limited to 240 tractors.
All tractors and pickup trucks must pre-register by going online to: www.rfdtv.com. All registrations must be received by July 25th in order for their pickup truck to be in the parade, or their classic tractor to be considered and scheduled to be on Talkin Tractors.
