Farming is in Eddie Lewis III’s roots.
He grew up on the family sugar farm alongside his brothers Hunter and Jordan. After his father passed away eight years ago, Eddie quit his stockbroking job and returned to the family farm. Eddie told Good Morning America, he quit the day after he heard the news about his father because he wanted to save the crop.
Eddie and his brothers are fifth-generation farmers and they produce 5 million pounds of sugar a year.
“I don’t want his work to taken for granted,” Jordan said. “I want to make sure it’s here for years and years.”
Regardless of the challenges and the weather, Eddie and his brother keep going.
“I hit the fields, get on my tractor, no matter what problem I run into,” Eddie said, “it’s not going to be big enough to stop me.”
