MSU Converts 30 Campus Acres Into Pollinator-Friendly Habitat

Officials at Michigan State University are giving a nod to the nation’s pollinators, transforming 30 acres of campus into a pollinator-friendly habitat. They’re converting land previously covered in turf into meadows. Groups spread native seed mixes made up of more than 30 varieties. Researchers say it will be more cost effective too. with less grounds-keeping needed. Pollinators are an important part of Michigan’s ag landscape, with 35% of all crops there under their support.
