Professor Roger McEowen: IRS Rules for Involuntary Livestock Conversion

NASHVILLE, Tenn (RFD-TV) RFD-TV’s Market Day Report will begin hosting a weekly interview with Roger McEowen, Professor of Agricultural Law and Taxation at the Washburn University School of Law, and an affiliate with the Kansas Farm Bureau.

The topic of this week’s interview: The IRS recently issued its annual notice, announcing areas that are eligible for an extension of the replacement period, for livestock that producers must sell because of severe weather conditions. Professor McEowen explains the applicable rules, how farmers can determine if they are eligible, and how to pursue further if they find that they are.
