more contestants from Barrel Racing qualifying event advance to THE AMERICAN
Semifinals and 2 Bull Riders advance directly to THE AMERICAN
This past week, Barrel
Racing and Bull Riding events were held advancing ten more competitors to THE
AMERICAN Semifinals and two directly to THE AMERICAN. The Bull Riding events
took place in Denver, Colo. at the Denver Coliseum and in Pueblo, Colo. at the
State Fair Event Center. The last qualifying opportunity for the Barrel Racing
event had 98 entries and took place in Buckeye, Ariz. at the South Buckeye
Equestrian Center Arena. THE AMERICAN Semifinals will take place in Mesquite, Texas
on Feb. 21-23, 2014. The top finishers
from each event after the qualifier will advance to RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN
Presented by Polaris RANGER on March
2, 2014 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. THE AMERICAN is the richest
one-day rodeo in history, with a payout of $2 million.

- Wing has qualified three times for the PBR
World Finals and works colts for his grandmother and on the Sneed Ranch
Bull Riding event held
in Pueblo, Colo. on Jan. 16.

qualifier advances: 1st Tanner Byrne
- Byrne is the first Canadian to qualify
for THE AMERICAN in the bull riding event. - Byrne was the Canadian Finals Rodeo
Aggregate Champion in 2012 and 2013. - Byrne’s father, Ryan, was a professional
bull fighter and was the first Canadian to fight bulls at the PBR World Finals
in Las Vegas.

- Semas is the wife of Aaron Semas, one of
the co-founders of the PBR. - DuPerier won the WPRA Junior World
Championship in 2010 and is a junior at Schreiner University in Kerrville,
Texas where she plays on the volleyball team. - Bassett qualified twice, once on her
horse Repeat Fame and the second time on her horse Famous Dungarees. - Grimes is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and
breeds and trains barrel horses. - Meadors qualified for the WNFR in 1990,
1991, 1993, 1995, 1996, 2010 and 2011. - Nina Smith and Katie Garthwaite will be
representing Canada in the barrel racing event. - Garthwaite qualified for the WNFR in
1999 and the Canadian Finals Rodeo in 2013. - Harvey has not competed in a rodeo since
the 1970’s and joins the barrel racing competitors and one of the oldest at age
67.
RFD-TV’s
THE AMERICAN Presented by Polaris RANGER
will take place on March 2nd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tickets
are on sale and prices range from $20 to $150, not including taxes. They

The Semifinals is the
last opportunity for an athlete to qualify to compete in RFD-TV’S THE AMERICAN
Presented by Polaris RANGER. It takes
place on Feb. 21-23 in Mesquite, Texas. Tickets for The Semifinals are
available now for $14, $20 and $30 not including taxes. They can be purchased
