Rural Media Group, Inc. announces hiring of Brian Hughes

Veteran television executive joins Rural Media Group Inc. Management Team

Omaha, Neb. (April 25, 2014) —Brian Hughes joined Rural Media Group, Inc. (RMG) in March 2014 as Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer. Hughes and his family are residents of Nashville where he will continue to live and work out of RMG’s Nashville Network operations. Along with CRO and CSO, he will be the GM of RMG’s Nashville Operations.

Hughes comes to RMG with over 25 years of experience and respect in the television and media industry. He has served as a key executive for The Nashville Network, Win Win Entertainment and most recently The Outdoor Channel.

“Rural Media Group is growing every day and Brian will be a great asset to help us continue that,” said Randy Bernard, President and CEO of RMG. “Brian understands our viewers, advertisers and business model better than anyone. I worked with Brian back when PBR was on TNN and he truly was the back bone to the network. His valuable experience in the western, rural and music industry will be one of the biggest and exciting moves RMG has made.”

His duties as Chief Revenue and Strategy Officer will include management of advertising, subscription opportunities, assisting in programming placement across RMG’s media interest’s including television, radio and digital. As GM of Nashville operations Hughes will support the daily operations and growth of the Nashville staff.

Hughes joining RMG’s executive team will compliment future growth of RMG’s media interests and allow the network to focus on its long term vision to better the interests of Rural America.

“This particular audience, the ‘heartland audience’ has been a part of every stop in my career,” Hughes stated in regards to joining RMG. “I have a particular affinity for this audience that is very loyal and under served. When you can serve their likes and interests it makes it very fun operating in this circle.”
