Secretary Tom Vilsack says USDA is helping farmers navigate through a number of issues during a critical time.

High input costs and transportation issues are still weighing on farmers during an already tough year.

Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack says progress is being made. He spoke to RFD-TV’s Janet Adkison about what USDA is doing to help farmers during harvest.

Regarding the rail strike, as Vilsack mentions, union members have not formally adopted the contract changes. The voting process is underway, but some industry leaders are closely watching the situation, as they fear the deal may ultimately fall through.
