Ag representatives will have a say on drone policy

Rural representatives will now be included in drone policy decision making.

Before the last Congress adjourned, Senators Gary Peters, John Thune, and Pat Roberts helped get the legislation passed. It ensures that the FAA’s Drone Policy Committee includes representation for agriculture, rural America, and forestry.

Senator Gary Peters says, “As more farmers and small business owners across Michigan utilize drone technology to bolster their daily operations, it’s critical that rural representatives have a seat at the table, especially when it impacts their bottom line and as they deal with unprecedented challenges related to the coronavirus.”
