Washington ag groups are asking the EPA and President Biden to leave the current Waters of the U.S. Rules in place.
More than 200 lawmakers recently signed a letter asking the administration to stop the process of moving back to the Obama-era regulations. Congressman Dan Newhouse of Washington state says that the current rule provides more certainty to landowners, ranchers, and communities.
According to Rep. Newhouse, “Some of the states in the country are talking about, and Washington state is no different, but would have up to 90 percent of their agricultural land under federal regulation because of this overreach of the Biden administration.”
He says that farmers across the country need the certainty of being able to make decisions that allow them to be profitable.
