A Texas man recently reeled in a monster bass that might be a state record.

Jason Conn was out earlier this month guiding and instructing clients when he noticed a river monster. After seeing it near the trolling motor he went for his rod and the dance began.

“The bait went right over her head and she just smoked it. She comes out of the water with the Alabama Rig hanging out her mouth and she digs back down. I’m screaming for them to grab the net and once we got her in the net, I’m freaking out... It was the biggest bass I’ve ever seen or caught,” Conn stated, KWTX reported.

He brought in a 17.03 lbs largemouth bass. According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife, it is one of the biggest in the state’s history, the eighth heaviest to be exact.
Conn donated the catch over to the Toyota ShareLunker program.
