Women in Ag Take the Spotlight in Season Two of the Award Winning FarmHer

Premieres Friday, September 8th at 9:30 p.m. ET

(NASHVILLE, TENN. — September 5th, 2017) The popular award winning series, “FarmHer,” returns for season two starting Friday, September 8th at 9:30pm CT, on RFD-TV. According to the USDA’s most recent census report, the number of women-led farms has tripled over the past four decades and remains one of the fastest-growing groups in the United States. Today females make up 32% of the farming workforce and are almost one million women strong. Despite these powerful statistics, female farmers have often gone unnoticed in farm imagery…until now. “FarmHer” focuses its camera lens on women in agriculture through the eyes of photographer and TV host Marji Guyler-Alaniz, who takes viewers coast to coast on a journey capturing the story of women and their connection to the land through her camera.

Each episode features a glimpse of agriculture through a unique lens: The female perspective. The women of “FarmHer” are passionate and determined make a difference in the lives of their families, communities and around the world. Some have been through tragedy, others have seen victory … but all of them are connected through their love of agriculture.

“The diversity of operations and the stories of the women who are an integral part of them will continue to expand throughout season two,” Guyler-Alaniz said. “We’ll take viewers from a potato farm in Maine to a whitetail deer farm in the south. We’ll travel from the green mountains and grapes of northern California to Florida, where we’ll visit an almost 90-year-old rancher. In Iowa, we’ll experience a large herd of wild horses and a small greenhouse operation. The women I have met have amazing stories to tell and I can’t wait to continue our FarmHer journey with the RFD-TV audience.”

Join the “FarmHer” journey for a second season on RFD-TV beginning Friday, September 8th at 9:30 p.m. ET. Encore airings include Saturdays at 11 a.m. ET, Sundays at 9:30 p.m. ET, and Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. ET. The original series is produced by RFD-TV in partnership with FarmHer and presented by Syngenta U.S. Additional sponsors include Mahindra U.S., Nationwide Agribusiness, and Puracyn.
