The monarch butterfly is on the waitlist to be named an endangered species

The monarch butterfly is on the waitlist to be named an endangered species. While the insect is behind other high priority candidates, its health and population will continue to be monitored.

American Farm Bureau’s Ryan Yates speaks with RFD-TV’s own Janet Adkison on the value of protecting butterflies and how farmers can help.

“From an agricultural perspective, obviously, looking at the pollinator, and other pollinators, it’s an important species that deserves attention and conservation efforts, and so I’m proud of the work that the ag sector has continued to leverage toward looking for opportunities to enhance conservation across the monarch flyway,” Yates explains.
