Slaughterhouses have been reporting an uptick in liver abscesses in beef from dairy cattle. The condition is costing the industry time and money, as it leads to increased carcass trimming and decreased profitability.
Dr. Blake Foraker with Washington State University spoke with RFD-TV’s own Suzanne Alexander on what is causing these abscesses, the impact on the industry, and how they are looking to mitigate the issue.
