Newly confirmed U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack returns to the helm of the USDA. A position he held for eight years during the Obama administration, but this time, he steps in to lead in a critical moment of rising food insecurity caused by the pandemic.
Vilsack spoke with RFD-TV’s own Christina Loren on the American Rescue Plan, the CFAP pause, future COVID relief packages, carbon market, and rural broadband.
According to the Secretary, “We’re obviously dealing with a twin crisis here with the healthcare crisis caused by COVID and the economic consequences of COVID. I wanted to be in a position to provide help and assistance with people that are struggling out there all across America, and certainly, USDA plays an integral role in providing help and assistance.”
