President Biden submits $1.5 trillion budget; $3.8 billion boost for USDA

Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says that the President’s budget will help rural America “Build Back Better.”

The Biden administration released a $1.5 trillion dollar budget. It includes a 16 percent increase in domestic spending and a two percent hike in defense.

Among the items are rural development, American ag, and climate change objectives. The budget also earmarks an extra $4 billion dollars for USDA.

This week, Secretary Vilsack will make his case to the House Appropriations Committee on why that money is needed.
