Iowa pork sues California over Prop 12

Iowa pork producers are suing California over Proposition 12.

They want the Iowa district court to declare the law unconstitutional and issue an injunction to prevent enforcement.

The lawsuit says that California residents consume 13 percent of U.S. pork but only generate less than 1 percent of total production. They argue the restrictions are inconsistent with industry standards and will impose high costs to Iowa pork producers.
