Starting just after his daughter’s birth in 1999, Frans Hofmeester, a Dutch film maker, captured weekly footage of her over the course of the next 18 years, which he then spliced into an astounding and moving time lapse video. Over the course of approximately five and a half minutes, viewers can witness Lotte Hofmeester virtually grow up right before their eyes. There are plenty of smiles and playful moments to be sure, but also some not-so-happy, sleepy, and irritable episodes captured as well, rounding out the emotional experience of the 18 year trip.
Hofmeester published the video compilation on YouTube for his daughters birthday, in October, 2017, and since then it has garnered upwards of 10 million views.
