A new $20 million dollar plant will process 500 head of cattle and bison per day in Idaho Falls. Intermountain Packing’s ne 50,000-square-foot facility will also employ 200 workers.
General manager Bob Stirling says that the new facility will give a lot of opportunity to local producers.
“Many of the ranchers here locally will have a home for their cattle, and they would not need to ship them to the Midwest,” he said. “We’re very excited to be starting this new business here in Idaho Falls. We know that it will be successful and it will benefit a lot of people in this area.”
The plant is scheduled to be in operation in the fall of 2021.
