700,000 Sunflowers Put Georgia Farm in Full Bloom

Fausett Farms has become a seasonal agritourism destination.

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. (Farm Monitor) — Agritourism season is in full swing, and a Georgia farm is drawing visitors with its sunflower fields.

Fausett Farms dates back to the 1850s and has since become one of the state’s top agritourism destinations. The operation now grows more than 700,000 sunflowers across 30 acres.

The sunflower attraction stands out in a state not known for commercial production of the crop. Most U.S. sunflower production is concentrated in the Great Plains, especially the Dakotas.
