The EPA is expected to soon hand down a decision regarding tailpipe emissions.
Analysts expect the final rule to be the most restrictive in history, and it is a move the ethanol industry and corn growers are bracing for as it could mean a larger push for more electric vehicles.
Senate Ag Committee member Deb Fischer says that would be a step in the wrong direction.
“The truth is that EVs are not a magic bullet for the environment. They’re underdeveloped and pose safety risks. And they create more problems than they solve, both at home and abroad.”
The Agency’s decision is expected sometime today.
