A hearing will be held regarding foreign ag land ownership but the timing is unknown

Lawmakers want to hold a hearing on foreign ag land ownership but work on the Farm Bill leaves the exact timing up in the air.

Senate Ag Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow says she wants to address foreign ag land ownership sometime during the current session of Congress but she is not sure when it would happen.

Several lawmakers have proposed bills on the topic, suggesting it could even be added to the Farm Bill. Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says a hearing before the Farm Bill is done would be unnecessary.
