A new trespassing bill in Canada looks to address farms’ biosecurity risk

A farm trespassing bill advances in Canada, aiming to address the risks from biosecurity breaches.

RealAg Radio’s Shaun Haney speaks with RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender on what this bill attempts to accomplish, what prompted the bill, and its future.

According to Haney, “This bill was brought forward by Foothill’s MP John Barlow... It’s Bill C-205. It would amend the Health of Animals Act to make it an offense to enter without lawful authority or excuse a place in which animals are kept if doing so would result in the exposure of the animals to a disease or toxic substance... John said that this is really a bill aimed at two things: the mental health of our farmers and the security of our food supply...”
