AFBF Economist: Lesser prairie chicken rule pressure fragile rural economies

Following a request by lawmakers, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has extended the date for when the lesser prairie chicken will receive protected species status.
It is a welcome move for ag groups who say that the listing will only cause more stress on rural economies.

American Farm Bureau Economist, Danny Munch spoke with RFD’s own Tammi Arender on the type of ag output that comes from the species’ region, population trends, and the impact on producers.
