Affordable prices at the pump and 45Z extensions are leading to record number of road trips

The Big, Beautiful Bill extends several Farm Bill programs through 2031. That includes farm safety net programs such as the Agricultural Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage.

The biofuel industry also benefited from extensions of tax credits such as 45Z.

According to the CEO of Growth Energy, Emily Skor, “It is technology neutral, and the incentive is to growers. The incentive is to ethanol producers. We know what we can do. We know the technologies at the ethanol plant. We know the technologies on the farm with our grower partners. We just need that incentive.”

The extension of 45Z benefits both ethanol producers and drivers as they hit the road this summer.
A record number of travelers have already gotten behind the wheel.

More affordable prices at the pump are helping fuel that growth. Gas Buddy says that average gas prices declined for the second week in a row, falling more than five cents compared to last week.

The $3.09 average marked the lowest Independence Day prices in five years.

More drivers are boosting demand for ethanol. With E15 now available at more than 4,000 pumps nationwide, the Renewable Fuels Association says that they have not seen this kind of growth in years.
That is good news for corn growers, who planted the largest crop since 2013.

Many farmers hope ethanol demand will soak up a big portion of this bumper harvest.
