Ag Inspector Bill Passes Senate

The Senate passes a bill to increase the number of ag inspectors at U.S. borders.

The measure would provide 222 million dollars in funding to the U.S. Customs And Border Patrol. It authorizes them to hire inspectors, support staff, and canine teams for ports of entry. Currently, there is an estimated shortage of almost 700 inspectors across the country.

The house still needs to approve the bill.
