All About: FFA Today

FFA Today

Check out FFA Today, a fun and fast-paced show featuring fascinating stories about amazing kids and unique agriculture industries.

With more than a half million dynamic FFA members across the nation, there are many stories to tell. Founded in 1928 as the Future Farmers of America, the National FFA Organization is the country’s largest youth organization with over 850,823 members and more than 8,995 chapters nationwide. FFA prepares young people for success with a wide range of academic, leadership and career development activities.

FFA helps prepare students for careers in the science, business and technology areas of agriculture. It functions as part of a school’s agricultural education program, helping to combine rigorous academic instruction with relevant hands-on experience. Students between the ages of 12 and 21 who are enrolled in a school’s agricultural education program are eligible for membership.

Chapters participate in community service activities and plan outreach events to educate children and communities about the importance of agriculture. Annually, FFA awards more than $2.5 million in scholarships. In addition to their projects, jobs and chapters activities, members can take part in dynamic leadership conferences, international travel and conventions. As faithful supporters of rural youth, RFD-TV is thrilled to have a program featuring today’s finest and brightest youth.

Hosted by FFA members, each episode of FFA Today takes you into the world of these dynamic students and teachers. Prepare to be inspired by their stories of service, entrepreneurship and innovation. The show also features interesting agriculture careers and industries. Plus, it highlights the incredible speaking and musical talents of members from across the country.

How about some high-octane FFA? Every October, RFD-TV brings you LIVE coverage of the National FFA Convention, the country’s largest youth gathering with nearly 70,000 in attendance. Highlights include keynote speakers, musical performances and the emotional election of the national FFA officer team.

The FFA of today may not be what you think. It’s about teaching skills in the food, fiber and natural resources industries; the leadership and personal development of the country’s most talented youth. FFA is about the students and their bright future in agriculture.

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED: What do we need? 1-4 minute videos
What topics are we looking for? Anything related to your FFA chapter or state association (SAE projects, chapter highlights, community service projects, conventions and leadership events, etc.)
What format do we need? All formats work, footage shot with a cell phone should be filmed horizontally
Anything we should NOT include? We would prefer clean footage with no graphics, but if they have graphics, we can work with that as well.
