Around 15,739 pounds of frozen beef patties from Cincinnati-based Advance Pierre Foods have been recalled by the USDA because they “may be contaminated with extraneous material, specifically, small, green, soft plastic.

The patties, which are ready-to-eat, were not sold in stores. However, they were distributed to a warehouse in Iowa as well as schools and other institutions.

“There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products,” a USDA release said. “Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.”

The company said 15,000 pounds is about half of one truckload.

The recall has been categorized as low risk and no other AdvancePierre Foods products were impacted.
