FORT WORTH, TX -- October 28, 2022 -- The Cowboy Channel is proud to announce that Amy Wilson will be presented with the Legacy of the West - Media Award this evening during the organization’s gala at Billy Bob’s Texas. Amy has been with The Cowboy Channel’s parent company, Rural Media Group, for almost a decade as host of Western Sports Roundup and behind-the-chutes reporter at live ProRodeo across the country, including the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

The Legacy of the West Gala unites the entire Western community in a fun event supporting the charitable cause to stop human trafficking while focusing efforts on the foster community and at-risk individuals. The gala is designed to celebrate the legacy of the rodeo community while building awareness for the survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation with a concentration on getting them the help they need to receive safe housing and counseling, along with the development of life and work skills.

“I’d sincerely like to thank Legacy of the West for this incredible honor, said Amy Wilson. “When they first told me about the award this summer, the timing was such a blessing. Knowing the mission of the organization and the positive impact they are making adds to how special this is to me as I strive to fulfill God’s purpose for my life. I’ve always loved my career in media, but this is an especially exciting time to be with The Cowboy Channel, accomplishing what has never been done before in ProRodeo.”

The Legacy of the West Gala will take place this Friday, October 28th at Billy Bob’s Texas. Other award recipients include Steve Wrubel (Innovative Photographer); Women’s Lasting Impact (Stevi Hillman); Trailblazer (Mack Altizer); Difference Maker (Lance Graves); All Git (Anthony Thomas); Raise The Bar (Steve Stone); and Legacy of the West (Joe Beaver).
