Jett Hale’s steer took home the title of Reserve Grand Champion on Friday at Rodeo Houston’s livestock show. The following day, he broke a rodeo record with his steer, going for an impressive $750,000 at auction.
Jett is a Miami, Texas native, and this was his last time showing as he finishes high school and is set to attend Texas A&M.
He is no stranger to the show ring. He comes from a showing family and even had a Reserve Grand Steer three years in a row.
What makes this story even more remarkable, Hale has been battling cancer and even undergone treatment while preparing for his exhibitions.
