The Biden Administration is throwing its support behind a right-to-repair lawsuit against John Deere.
In December, Deere asked the court to rule on the facts already presented before a trial can be held. This week, the Justice Department filed a motion asking the court to reject that request.
The Biden Administration said it was concerned if the court ruled in Deere’s favor it would harm U.S. interests regarding the Anti-Trust Act. The Administration says repair restrictions can harm consumers by driving independent shops out of business.
