Avid outdoorsman and country megastar Blake Shelton gave back to his Oklahoma community last Saturday by taking a group of foster children fishing.
Shelton is the board director for the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation so he invited several children and volunteers to his farm to show them how to fish and how to properly prepare the fish for a meal. Afterward, the group had a fish fry.
“Thank you, Blake for being so generous and taking time to invest in the children from your home state by showing them what outdoor Oklahoma is all about,” Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation wrote on Facebook.
The event was part of the Fostering Outdoor Oklahoma Families partnership which aims to introduce foster children to the outdoors. As part of the program, all of the gear was donated by the Oklahoma Wildlife Conversation and the kids got to keep all of it so they can continue fishing.
