As National Organic Harvest Month comes to an end, farmers continue looking for ways to boost margins.
A growing number of producer are now finding new opportunities with elderberry, an in-demand crop with can boost profitability.
Pete Widin with Artisan Environments spoke with RFD-TV’s own Tammi Arender on the benefits of growing elderberry and the commitment to growing it.
According to Widin, “The immune boosting properties of elderberry have been proven in multiple peer reviewed studies and so consumers are becoming more and more aware of this. Not only home consumers, consuming health products or making their own syrups and things like that, but also alcoholic beverage producers and herbal medicine companies, as well as, greater food produces such as dairy products are all wanting to open wholesale accounts for elderberry.”
